User Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Pickism account and any personal information we hold about you, including information received from third-party login providers such as Facebook.

What gets deleted

When we process a deletion request, we remove:

  • Your account profile (name, email, avatar)
  • Any projects, options, links, and todos you created (except a project you share with other members — see the exception under "How to request deletion")
  • Memberships in projects owned by other users
  • Authentication identities linked to your account (Google, Facebook, etc.)
  • Any data we received from Facebook Login about you (Facebook user ID, name, email, profile picture URL)

Anonymized usage logs and aggregated analytics that do not identify you may be retained.

How to request deletion

You have two options.

Option 1 — In-app (fastest)

On the web:

  1. Sign in to your Pickism account at https://pickism.com/app
  2. Open Settings
  3. Scroll to Delete account
  4. Type your username to confirm, then click Delete my account

In the mobile app:

  1. Open the You tab, then Settings (the gear)
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account
  3. Type your username to confirm, then tap Delete my account

Your account and associated data are removed immediately. The action is irreversible.

One exception: a project you own that other people still use is not destroyed. It passes to the person who has had access to it longest, whether they were added to it directly, to a project above it, or through a group, so a shared decision survives your departure. A group you own passes to its longest-standing member the same way. You are shown exactly which projects change hands, and who inherits them, before you confirm.

Option 2 — Email request

If you cannot sign in (for example, you lost access to the email or Facebook account you signed up with), email hello@pickism.com from the address associated with your account, or include enough information for us to identify you (for Facebook Login users: the email address Facebook shared with us when you signed up).

We will:

  • Acknowledge your request within 5 business days
  • Verify your identity
  • Complete the deletion within 30 days of verification
  • Confirm completion by email

Facebook Login users

If you signed in with Facebook and want to revoke Pickism's access without deleting your account, you can also do so directly from Facebook:

  1. Go to Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites
  2. Find Pickism in the list
  3. Click Remove

Removing the app via Facebook revokes our ongoing access to your Facebook profile but does not automatically delete the data we already received. To delete that data, follow Option 1 or Option 2 above.

Retention after deletion

We may retain a minimal record of the deletion request itself (timestamp and account identifier) for up to 24 months to comply with legal obligations and to demonstrate compliance with data protection laws. Backups are purged on a rolling 30-day cycle.
